A Sunset Wedding at Bedell Cellars on the North Fork

Located in Cutchogue on the North Fork, Bedell Cellars combines rows of vineyards, open landscapes and an elegant outdoor setting that feels completely different from the traditional Long Island ballroom wedding. The winery describes its wedding setting around its vineyard property and pavilion, with events accommodating up to 200 guests.

A Long Island Vineyard Wedding

For Taylor and Nick’s Bedell Cellars wedding, the vineyard gave us exactly what we love as photographers: incredible natural scenery, changing light throughout the evening and plenty of opportunities to create images that feel cinematic without taking the couple away from their wedding for hours.

One of the biggest reasons couples choose a North Fork vineyard wedding is the atmosphere. Bedell Cellars feels relaxed while still being elevated. Instead of walking from one ballroom to another, guests are surrounded by the vineyard and landscape of Long Island wine country.

Bedell is a family-owned winery in the Long Island wine-growing region and grows grapes across three vineyard sites totaling approximately 75 acres. Bedell Cellars From a photography perspective, that setting gives us something different almost everywhere we turn.

The vineyard rows create natural leading lines for portraits. The open fields give us beautiful wide photographs that establish the North Fork setting. The pavilion allows the celebration to still feel connected to the landscape.

And then there's the sunset.

Sunset Wedding Photos at Bedell Cellars

Golden hour is one of our favorite parts of photographing a Bedell Cellars wedding. For Taylor and Nick, we stepped into the vineyard around sunset for a quick portrait session as the light began dropping behind the property.

This is exactly how we like to approach wedding portraits.

Rather than turning the wedding day into one long photoshoot, we'll usually find a few short windows throughout the day. We'll capture the portraits we need, let our couples get back to their guests, and then pull them away for a few minutes when the light is worth it.

Documentary Wedding Photography Meets Editorial Portraits

Our approach at Raynor Studios is a mix of documentary and editorial wedding photography. That means we're not trying to pose every second of your wedding.

During the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, we're watching for the moments happening naturally—reactions from your family, your friends laughing together, people on the dance floor and the small interactions you may not even notice while they're happening. When it's time for portraits, we become more intentional.

We'll guide you into great light, give you enough direction so you never feel awkward in front of the camera and create photographs that feel polished without losing the personality of the day.
